People of the Breaking Day

Page history last edited by Sara Nordenstrom 13 years, 4 months ago

This storybook is a great illustration of the Wampanoags who lived in Southeastern Massachusetts at the time of the pilgrims landing.  It creates the world in which the Wampanoags lived before they met the pilgrims.  Written in a poetic form and wonderful illustrations create this book.  If you are looking for a great learning tool to be used while teaching about the pilgrims and Indians, this story would do the job.

People of the Breaking Day is written and illustrated by Marcia Sewall.

For grade level 5.  48 pages in length
