The Use of an Interactive Character Map Graphic Organizer in the Classroom

The Mindmeister website is a great tool that has allowed our class to collaboratively map out all of the characters of the Mayflower book.  There can be a great deal of anxiety in keeping track of key figures when reading books.  A character map is the ideal way to organize this information.  The great thing about the Mindmeister program is that the entire class has the ability to add and edit the information.  When you look at our map, please note, that we separated the characters into sections to visually organize the people in relation to the group and time period they were involved.  Mindmeister also allowed us to create informational links and attachments to each character, providing biographical information at the click of a button.

These are the people whose lives intersected most

clearly with the adventure known as The Mayflower.
