Insatiable

StoryBird Explanation

This is a shift of the predominant motivation of the residents of Plymouth. This seems to be when the settlers became greedy.  No longer happy with the simple life they needed materials to fuel the "insatiable" acquisition of 'stuff'(p. 199).

This Storybird represents the time in history when...the Pilgrim children-the second generation became greedy and did not keep up the important religious beliefs held by the Pilgrims. The elders made a new law so that the children could attend Half Way Covenant, In The Mayflower by Nathaniel Philbrick this is represented on pages...198-199

This is important to consider because at the time....this caused much chaos in the settlement and started the beginning of the moral deterioration.

If things hadn't gone this way...there may have been less conflict and more trust between the Pilgrims and the Natives.

When I think about it now I realize that...Americans need to revisit their role as consumers, its effects on the environment and how we are viewed by other countries.

Another way to read this turning point would be to consider... how much of the American population is struggling with these same issues now. I came to this conclusion because....the amount of control the producers have over the consumers who are insatiable.

I still wonder....If the Pilgrim beliefs were held by the children there may have been many more years of peace.
