This book is told in first person by Morning Girl and her brother, Star Boy who are Taino. The chapters alternate between the two characters showing different perspectives. Morning Girl got her name because she would have dreams at night and wake up very early in the mornings. She is definitely a morning person while her brother loves the darkness of night and that is how he got his name. This book shows you a different perspective of when Christoper Columbus came over to the New World.
